Definition :

Magnesium, an organic acid formed by the reaction of L-lactic acid and magnesium, is a food additive (E327). It is a white or off-white powder with slight efflorescence. It is mild in nature, well tolerated by the human body, and easily absorbed by the intestines.

It is composed of calcium and lactate (molecular formula: C₆H₁₀CaO₆), with a relative molecular mass of 218.22. It can form a variety of hydrates and meets the standards for food additives and pharmaceutical excipients.

Application Areas :

It can be used in food additives, dairy products, pastries, health products, infant formula, and pharmaceutical preparations to treat hypocalcemia, as well as as a food fortifier and anti-tartar agent.
