Definition:

The compound β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate calcium, referred to as HMB-Ca, CAS: 135236-72-5, β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyric acid (HMB) is widely found in citrus fruits and certain vegetables such as Cauliflower, legumes such as alfalfa, and certain fish and seafood. Due to the active nature of HMB, it is converted into calcium salt-β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (HMB-Ca) by synthetic methods; calcium salts are widely used, such as food additives, dietary additives, etc.
