The density is 0.877-0.888. The refractive index is 1.488-1.494 (20°C). Optical rotation -28°--45°C. The soap value is ≤20. Insoluble in water, glycerin and glycol, soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, mineral oil and most animal and vegetable oils. The main ingredients are Zingiberene, Shogaol, gingerol, zingerone, citral, phellandrene, borneol, etc.

Physical and chemical properties:

The color gradually changes from light yellow to darker to yellowish brown, and it will thicken after long-term storage. The relative density is 0.870~0.882, and the refractive index (20℃) is 1.488~1.494. It has a smell like fresh ginger and has a spicy taste. Soluble in most non-volatile oils and mineral oils, insoluble in glycerin and propylene glycol, has a certain antioxidant effect
